Organizing Scans into Work Zones

There are 2 ways to easily assign scans to a work zone:

  • Manually dragging and dropping scans from the list in Data tab to a work zone in Work Zone Explorer or in Data tab main view.


  • Selecting scans in Overview Map and creating a new work zone in Resource Explorer.

Drag & drop in Data tab

1. Create a work zone first by clicking Add at the top right corner and then click Work Zone.


2. Select scans in Data tab (use Shift+Click to select multiple files at a time).



3. Then drag and drop files to the right work zone either in Work Zone Explorer or in a corresponding folder in Data tab main view.


Scan selection in Overview Map

1. Go to Overview Map.

2. Select Ortho view (top, left, right, front or rear) and Display setting (RGB, X-Ray, Surface etc.) that will show the best view of the scan layout for a selection by Rectangle selection tool.


3. Click Rectangle Select Tool in the vertical tool bar.


4. Use this tool to select scans that need to be assigned to a given work zone.


Check Rotation tool article that could help to adjust visualization of the scan data to better position Rectangle select tool.


5. By pressing Ctrl and clicking on scan icons, it's possible to remove some of the selected scans or add non-selected ones.


6. Click on Resource Explorer on side tool bar.


7. In Resource Explorer panel on the left side of the screen, click Create Work Zone and move selected nodes.


8. Define Name and click Create.


9. Selected scans are then moved to a newly created work zone.
