Point Cloud Cleanup using Leica Cyclone Software

You can perform Point Cloud Cleanup within Leica Cyclone software and export that information out as a structured .e57 point cloud to be uploaded into Cintoo Cloud via Cintoo Connect. (This content provided by NOAR Technologies, a valued Cintoo Partner and Leica Registered Partner.)

  • Open Registered ModelSpace

  • Double Check that Scans aren’t Unified/Merged
    • Click on point cloud to select cloud.
    • If entire cloud lights up, and ‘one cloud’ is listed in bottom left, point cloud is unified and cannot be cleaned for Cintoo.

  • Open the Layer Manager, and create Noise, Working, and Complete layers
    • Shift + L opens manager

  • Select a single point cloud, and assign to Working layer

  • Disable the visibility on Default, Noise, and Complete working layers
    • This should leave one scan visible in the ModelSpace

  • Segment the cloud to remove noise

  • Select Noise and assign to Noise Layer

  • Select all segments of the scan and run the Merge command
    • Create Object -> Merge
    • This will combine all parts back into one contiguous cloud

  • Select the point cloud and assign to the Completed layer
    • This will turn the visibility of the cleaned cloud off

  • Turn on the Default layer visibility and repeat steps 4-9 for each individual scan
