Setting and Using a Site Map

Sites Maps are background images that will help locate and navigate the scans and the 360° images. Site Maps may correspond to a 2D plan that has been scanned, a Google Earth, a Google Maps, a Bing Map or an orthographic drone view of the site.

A Site Map can be at the root of the project or inside a Work Zone. You may have one Site Map per Work Zone.

Current import formats for Site Maps in Cintoo Cloud are JPEG and PNG. Resolution is limited to 4k * 4k pixels.

Step 1 – Upload the Site Map image

• Select the Work Zone in which the Site Map will be uploaded.
• Select Upload Documents:
• Click on Select Files to browse your PC to select the image, or drop the file as indicated below:
  

Step 2 – Align the Site Map to the scans

• Make sure that the Work Zone in which the Site Map image was uploaded to is selected. 
• In the Overview Map, click the Site Map tool:
• In the Site Map Settings, select the image first:
  
• Once loaded in the view, you may use the Visibility slider to double check that the selected image is the right one.
• Click on Select to select a Scan 1:
• Click on Match to match it to the Site Map:
• When clicking on the picture, this will process a first match and the image will align to the selected scan.
• Repeat the process for Scan 2.
• When clicking on Match and then clicking the corresponding location in the image, this will adjust the rotation and scale for the Site Map to adjust it to the scans.
  
• You may fine tune your alignment by clicking on Match and clicking again on the image to select the scan location. This process can be run several times until you are satisfied with the alignment. Using the Visibility slider to adjust the relative transparency of the scan data and the image my help in this process.
• Click on Save settings before quitting the tool. The button turns green for a few seconds.
• Saving the Site Map settings will create an additional Map file in the same Work Zone than the one used to store the Site Map image: 
  

• You have now matched the X and Y coordinates between Scans and Site Map.
  you may want to move the Site Map in Elevation (Z coordinates).
• If so, you will need to use the Manual Alignment Tool (Found in 3D View Tab)
  - You can toggle your view to an Ortho Side view (Front, Left, Right or Back using the Cube Faces on top right Corner)
  

• From the 3D View Tab
• Open the Manual Alignment Tool make sure the Work Zones with your Site Map and Scans are active in the Work Zone Explorer
• Select Site Map as To Align and Scans as Reference,
• Then use the Translation Z Axis by typing a value or use the arrows to incrementally adjust the Z value to move
• Finally click the Apply button, and close the tool clicking on the top right cross
  Advice: Don't click on Reset, otherwise it will put back the Site Map to it's original position.

Step 3 – Using the Site Map

• The aligned Site Map will be displayed in the Overview Map and in the Navigation Map of the 3D View to help locate and navigate your scans.
• Scan icons and 360 image icons are displayed in red and green.
• In 3D View, the Site Map is displayed in the Navigation Map at the bottom right of the 3D View to help navigate your scans:

• You can toggle the display of the Site Map on/off by using the Resource Explorer tool:
  
• You can use the Crop Tool in the Overview Map or in the 3D View, which will crop the scan data, 2D drawing (if any) and 3D model (if any) but not the Site Map:
