VR actions - Annotations
This article describes how to upload annotations from Cintoo project, how are they visualized and how to create annotations in Cintoo VR Experience.

Get Annotations from Cintoo Project
To view the annotations list, open Explorer by clicking the top button on Navigation controller. Navigate to Annotations tab.
Note: move the window using low bar Grab to move with Navigation controller to place it in 3D space at your convenience.
Warning: while this interface menu is open, teleportation is not possible!
By default the Annotations tab is empty.
To upload the Annotations from Cintoo project click Fetch from the cloud.
This action populates the list and the view with all annotations from Cintoo project. To remove them click on Deactivate.
Navigation
Search bar on top allows to filter out annotations by name and label.
Each annotation tile includes the following information:
- Type (yellow Notes, red Issues) and number
- Name
- Author
- Date of creation
- Labels
Teleport to annotation location by clicking on annotation tile in the list with Navigation controller trigger.
Create Annotation
To create an annotation, click on Add annotation at the bottom of the menu.
This action enables annotation placement mode which is done using Tools controller:
- click on X or Y button on Tools controller to generate a gizmo representing the location of the annotation
- move the gizmo forward and back by pressing on top (Y) and bottom (X) buttons on Tools controller
- move Tools controller to change the direction of the movement
- once satisfied with the positioning press Tools controller trigger
- a pop-up menu is opened
- if the Grip trigger is pushed on Tools controller positioning is cancelled
- the process could be cancelled at any time by selecting and pressing Cancel Annotation
In the menu opened insert the following parameters:
- Type using the drop-down menu
- Name by pressing on the pencil icon
- Labels - add multiple labels if necessary, using '+' once set with the pencil icon
- Description by pressing within the field
- Severity (only for Issues) - Low, Medium, High, Critical.
To finish the process click Create annotation. Once clicked, the annotation is sent automatically to Cintoo project and after a short timeout it will be visible from the Web Application. To abort the operation click Cancel annotation.
Draft Mode
Put on hold - enables Draft mode, putting the annotation creation menu on top of the annotation tied to it in 3D space. All annotations in draft mode are not created and not pushed to Cintoo!
Annotations in this status have a blue Draft label in the list to be distinguished.
Click on the exclamation mark next to the Draft to enter editing mode and finish the annotation creation process.
Annotations in draft mode could easily be removed by clicking Refresh in Annotations menu, prior to that all the annotations for the project need to be imported into VR. If new annotations appeared in Cintoo project since Fetch from the cloud was pushed, clicking Refresh will populate the updated list.
Edit and Comment Annotations
Click on any annotation in 3D space to open editing menu where it's possible to:
- Comment on an annotation - to submit a comment click Reply
- Change type between Note and Issue
- Change Severity (for Issues)
- Change Name
- Remove or add Labels - click '+' to add, click cross to remove
- Put on hold - closes the window
- Cancel update - removes all the changes except comments within this session
To validate changes, press Update Annotation button, otherwise all changes will be lost!
