Model Content Explorer

Model Content Explorer allows to browse model hierarchy, elements and metadata.

Select Model Content Explorer on the vertical Explorer Toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen. 



This opens Model Content Explorer on the left-hand side.


Please note if a model is not selected within Model Explorer or Resource explorer, Model Content Explorer will remain blank. Pick a model to explore its contents.


With a model selected, model hierarchy is displayed which can be expanded and searched as required.


Model Content Explorer allows to browse, search, select or unselect elements of models. 

Following attributes can be searched using Model Content Explorer search tool:

  • element name
     
  • narrowing down search results to find the exact name of the file is done by adding a prefix "label:" and putting the name of the file searched in brackets "example". Please note that this search is case sensitive.


  • special case when a character is in the middle of the name of the file. To correctly process it by the search mechanism add "\" character before the character. For example initial filename is model"example, then enter scan\"example to correctly search:


  • additionally search could be performed by metadata


If the following message appears, the model has either been exported incorrectly or uploaded before the release of the expanded BIM & CAD module (before Oct 03, 2022). 



In this case, please review model export settings from the design software and reupload the latest version of the model.


Model Content Explorer lists several Actions at the bottom, related to the selected model item. They are Information, Create tag and Progress Monitoring.


See Information related to the selected model element by clicking the 'i' icon. 

Information panel appears on the right-hand side of the screen and allows to browse Properties and Details.


If utilizing Cintoo Asset Tagging tools and a tag list is created in the active work zone, model items could be added to the tag list by using the Create Tag button. This will display a list of available tag lists to choose from and add the model element to. 


In addition, tools to the right of the item could be used to hide/show the model or using the 3 dots it's possible:

  • Open / Close to expand or collapse the model hierarchy
  • Show it or Hide it in 3D View
  • Isolate it from the rest of the model in 3D View
  • Look at to turn the viewpoint towards the selected element (no zoom)
  • Go to, which will zoom the viewpoint to the selected element
  • Focus in 3D Navi to provide a zoom extents of the selected element 


It's also possible to select any element of the model directly in 3D View by using Pick Models tool in the top toolbar. 


Picking a model element in 3D View will automatically open Model Content Explorer (if it is not already open). It will also automatically highlight the selected element in model hierarchy to quickly access its properties or isolate it for analysis. 


Selected elements will appear in blue in 3D View. Unselect the element (and then remove the blue highlight) with a CTRL + Click on the selected element in Model Content Explorer.


Additionally double clicking a model element in Model Content Explorer tree brings 3D View to this element.
